Husband Roman poised for landslide victory
MANILA -- Shalani Soledad, who was catapulted to fame for dating President Benigno Aquino III, is trailing in her congressional bid in the City of Valenzuela.
According to the latest data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Transparency Server, the councilor from the city's 2nd district has 46,975 votes, with 84.97% election returns processed as of 3:11 p.m. Tuesday.
Her opponent as congressman of Valenzuela's 2nd district, LAKAS candidate Magi Gunigundo, is leading the polls with 49,384 votes.
Soledad's husband, re-electionist Pasig City representative Roman Romulo, meanwhile, is poised for a landslide victory with 83.1% election returns processed as of Tuesday afternoon.
Romulo, also according to data from the Comelec Transparency Server, so far has 183,586 votes, while his opponent in the congressional race, UNA's Jun Salatandre, only has 25,951 votes.
Both Soledad and Romulo are running under the administration ticket Team PNoy.
The 33-year-old Soledad, prior to her congressional bid, and following her publicized relationship with Aquino, hosted a variety game show.
